PRODUCT INFORMATION
Wear plate is low-alloy steel plate hardened by quenching and tempering; it gives several times the wear life of standard structural steel and is used as liner and body material in equipment exposed to continuous friction, impact and scraping in mining, quarrying, aggregate processing and heavy industry, extending equipment life and reducing maintenance cost. As the hardness class rises, wear life increases while formability and weldability decrease; the choice depends on the type of wear and whether the part needs bending. High-strength plates S690QL and S960QL carry heavy loads in thinner sections thanks to their high yield and tensile strength; they are used in load-bearing parts of lifting equipment, earthmoving machinery, construction, automotive and shipbuilding where weight must be reduced. AR400 is preferred for parts with impact and bending, AR450 for heavy sliding wear, AR500 for liners that are not formed; bend across the rolling direction, weld with low-hydrogen electrodes and preheat above 20 mm.
THE ERMAN DIFFERENCE
Three hardness classes and two high-strength grades; 5–100 mm, 1500–3000 × 6000–12000 mm.
CNC oxy-fuel and plasma cutting up to 4,100 × 12,000 mm with a narrow heat-affected zone on hardened plate.
Every lot on record by heat number; delivered with its EN certificate and certificate of origin, hardness stated on the certificate. Traceability page →
Bending, rolling, blasting-painting and section processing included; one quotation, one invoice.
