Hot-rolled steel plates are supplied from stock in the grade you require and in thicknesses from 5 to 400 mm. CNC oxy-fuel, plasma or laser cutting is performed to the requested dimensions; each plate is delivered with heat-number traceability and certificates.

About hot-rolled plate
Hot-rolled plate is produced by rolling steel at high temperature into flat plate; hot forming relieves internal stress, so it behaves predictably in welding, bending and cutting and keeps its strength and toughness in heavy sections. It is the base material of construction, shipbuilding, bridges and roads, heavy industry and machinery; despite its thickness it machines easily and is a cost-effective choice for large projects. Erman's stock covers the widest range of thicknesses and grades in heavy plate in the sector: S235, S235JR and S235J2 for general fabrication and light structures; S275JR for medium loads; S355JR and S355J2+N for heavy structures and machine bodies; S355NL for welded structures in very low temperatures; S355J2C+N for parts that require cold bending and forming. The suffix in the grade name shows the temperature at which impact toughness is guaranteed; the C suffix means suitability for cold forming. Yield strength decreases and carbon equivalent rises with thickness; preheating is recommended for S355 from 30 mm and UT lamination testing above 50 mm; mill scale is blasted off before painting.
