PRODUCT INFORMATION

About boiler plate

Pressure vessel and boiler plate is the shell and dished-end material of equipment working under internal pressure and high temperature; it is used in power plants, refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants, heating systems and the food and pharmaceutical industries for steam boilers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and reactors. Unlike structural steel, its yield strength is guaranteed at elevated temperature, it resists chemicals and corrosion, and its clean, homogeneous structure suits post-weld heat treatment; these properties give safe, efficient operation, long life and low maintenance cost. The GH suffix denotes suitability for elevated-temperature service, NH and NL denote normalised delivery and low-temperature toughness; the number is the minimum yield strength at room temperature. P265GH is the standard choice for boiler and tank shells, P355GH for thinner walls at higher pressure, P355NL for tanks and gas equipment working below −20 °C; for fabrication under PED 2014/68/EU the certificate class (3.1/3.2) is agreed before ordering.
